Description of Turbo-Twin Double Classifier
The Turbo-Twin Double Classifier is a top-notch particle separator. It works well for classifying soft to medium-hard minerals. Plus, it handles high throughputs, making it great for industrial fillers. The classifying wheel features a new patented design. It allows for high throughput rates and loading factors with fineness values of up to d97 = 3.0 μm. The EPIC TDC Ultra-fine Air Classifier has a low pressure drop. This feature makes it one of EPIC’s most energy-efficient air classifiers.
The classifying wheel has support bearings on each side. It allows very high peripheral speeds, reaching up to 120 m/s. Another unique feature is the improved product routing to the classifying wheel. This change stops back mixing with the already classified coarse material. Six models are available for pilot classification systems in large production units.
Working Principle
The classifying wheel is designed with fine discharge at its both ends, and feature of NG wheel is adopted, which causes lower pressure drop than old-generation classifiers. Energy saving up to 25 % are possible. The classifying wheel is supported in bearings on both sides and permits extremely high peripheral speeds of up to 120 m/s. It allows bigger classifier wheel to produce very fine powder for example of d97 3 micron, which is not possible for big classifier of old generation. Optimized product routing approach: powder material is conveyed directly to the classifying wheel. This prevents any fresh feed back-mixing with the already classified coarse material.It is no longer necessary to adjust the classifying wheel gap, which simplifies maintenance tremendously.
